ABOUT US

White County E-911 went on the air January of 1995. Before this period dispatching was done out of Sparta Police Department. The idea for 911 in White County started in 1990 when former County Executive Charles Curtiss began having meetings with numerous people on this idea. 90% of White County voted for creating the local 911 center which exists today. Gene Eller was hired as the first director of the communications center and Wayne Sherrell was brought in to  handle all mapping and addressing for the County.
